Men around the world are queuing up to shake the hands of scientists who claim that smelling farts is good for you. Many have joked about hospitals opening up new Dutch Oven wards in the smelly wake of a study that suggests the pungent odour could hold the key to preventing many conditions including diabetes, dementia and heart failure. Scientists at the University of Exeter believe that the stinky element to our farts hydrogen sulfide protects mitochondria which are known as the powerhouse of cells.
