"Stateism is the desire to control most of the economy so that the productive output from the private sector becomes a minority against the percentage of the economy that is now controlled and run by tax revenues and government expenditure. It is the incredible continued assault on liberties and our ability to make free decisions about the handling of our lives. It is this kind of economic planning model based on 'we know what is best'. Despite having failed every single time, they all continue with what they are doing and I have no confidence in that model at any level.

The EU is stateism through the back door. I object to the idea that the state thinks it knows best, can run our economies, control our social lives, tell us what we should and shouldn't do, take our DNA etcetera. I object to this whole direction that the state is taking. I don't use the word 'socialism' as being my enemy. I think it is really stateism that is the enemy. Some of it comes from left-wing people and some of it comes from right-wing people."
