Sir,

According to the media you are investigating the hacking or leakage of thousands of e-mails and documents from the Climatic Research Unit of the University of East Anglia. This affair has become known as 'Climategate'.

Despite the fact that this investigation started more than a year ago, no progress been communicated to the public so far, as far as I know.

I am sure that thousands of both climate experts and laymen all over the world would be very curious to know what has happened. The outcome of the investigation might also be an important element in the ongoing global climate debate.

On internet ICT experts have speculated about what has happened. See e.g. here:

Did you, in the course of your investigation, contact these ICT experts or any other ICT experts. If so, what was the result? If not, why not?
